UK Medicine & Disease Olympiad 2025

The second annual UKMDO, the UK Medicine and Disease Olympiad, will take place on April 26-27, 2026. It is a 2-hour exam that can be started anytime from 8:00 am UK time on April 26 and must be submitted by 11:59 pm UK time on April 27. 🩺 What is the UKMDO?

The UKMDO is a national and international competition designed for middle and secondary school students (ages 13–18) interested in medicine, human biology, and health sciences. You'll face case-based questions covering:

  • Human Anatomy & Physiology

  • Diseases & Disorders

  • Microbiology & Immunology

  • Pharmacology

  • Diagnostic Reasoning

This is not just another biology test. It’s a competition designed to simulate the kind of thinking used in real medical cases, giving you a taste of what future doctors and biomedical scientists do every day.

  • Competition Date: April 26-27, 2026

  • Format: Online (you can participate from anywhere in the world)

  • Duration: 120 minutes

🎯 Who Can Participate?

  • Any school student aged 13–18 (as long as you are not enrolled in higher education you are eligible)

  • Open to students in the UK and internationally

  • No prior medical knowledge required — just curiosity and a solid foundation in biology

  • 📄 Digital certificates of participation for all participants

  • 🎓 Top scorers will win £300, £200, and £100 Gift cards of their choice (e.g., Amazon, Apple, etc)

📄UKMDO Certificate Categories
  1. Top 10% Certificate – Awarded to students in the highest 10% of all participants.

  2. Honorable Mention Certificate (Top 20%) – Awarded to students in the top 20% but not in the top 10%.

  3. Merit Certificate (Top 30%) – Awarded to students in the top 30% but not in the top 20%.
